Introduction
In Italy, a good meal rarely ends without something sweet. Dolci, the Italian word for desserts, are a way to linger at the table, share a final spoonful and finish on a high note. At In Forno Hamilton, our dessert menu is short, classic and made to satisfy every kind of sweet tooth.
Whether you want something creamy, crunchy, boozy or warm, here is your guide to the best desserts on our menu and how to pair them.
Classic Tiramisu
Tiramisu is arguably Italy’s most famous dessert, with roots in the Veneto region in the north. The name translates roughly as “pick me up”, a nod to the espresso and cocoa in every layer.
Our house-made Classic Tiramisu is built from savoiardi biscuits dipped in fresh espresso, layered with smooth mascarpone cream and dusted with cocoa powder. It is light, creamy and gently bitter, with a coffee flavour that cuts through the sweetness. It contains egg.
If you only order one dessert, this is the one. It is also easy to share, which makes it ideal for a table of friends.
Biscoff Ricotta Cannoli
Cannoli come from Sicily, where crisp pastry shells are traditionally filled with sweetened ricotta. Our version adds a modern twist: a light, crisp cannoli shell filled with creamy ricotta and Biscoff, topped with a Biscoff drizzle and crumbs.
The contrast of textures is what makes it special: crunchy shell, silky filling and caramelised biscuit flavour. It is a smaller dessert, so it works beautifully as a sweet finish when you are not feeling too full, or as an extra treat to share.
Affogato
Affogato means “drowned” in Italian, and this dessert is as simple as it sounds. A scoop of ice cream is drowned in a shot of fresh, hot espresso. The hot and cold combination is irresistible, with melting cream, bitter coffee and a little sweetness in every spoonful.
At In Forno, you can make your affogato even more special by pairing it with a 30ml shot of liqueur. The selection includes:
- Kahlúa: coffee-flavoured and rich.
- Frangelico: nutty and hazelnut-sweet.
- Limoncello: bright and lemony.
- Baileys: smooth and creamy.
- Tia Maria: coffee and vanilla notes.
- Mr Black: bold, bitter coffee liqueur.
It is an easy way to turn a simple dessert into an after-dinner highlight.
Crème Brûlée
If you love the crack of a spoon through caramelised sugar, our Crème Brûlée is for you. It is a house-made vanilla custard, lightly baked and topped with a flame-torched crisp of caramelised sugar. The custard is smooth and creamy, while the top is crunchy and sweet. It contains egg and is gluten free.
Sticky Date Pudding
For something warm and comforting, order the Sticky Date Pudding. It is house-made, served with rich butterscotch sauce and topped with a scoop of smooth vanilla ice cream. Warm cake, sticky sauce and cold ice cream is a classic combination that never fails, especially on cooler evenings.

Make It a Dessert Night
You do not have to order a full meal to enjoy dessert at In Forno. Many guests book a later table for dessert and coffee, or celebrate special occasions with a shared sweet treat. If you are marking a birthday or anniversary, let us know when you book so we can help make the night a little more special.
